25.03.06. - WORLD CHAMPIONS!!!
What can we add????

The gold won by Albena Denkova and Maxim Staviski is the first ever for Bulgaria in World Skating Championships.

The ice dancers own all of their country's medals at worlds. They added gold Friday night to their previous silver and bronze, edging Canada's Marie-France Dubreuil and Patrice Lauzon, and Americans Tanith Belbin and Ben Agosto, the Olympics silver winners.

"Your success will be written down in gold letters in the history of Bulgarian sports," President Georgi Parvanov wrote in a cable congratulating Denkova and Staviski. "With your perseverance and strong will, you proved your undoubted qualities as athletes and unquestionably took the place you deserved long ago with your mastery and artistry."

"Congratulations, champions!" hailed Prime Minister Sergey Stanishev on the same occasion. "I congratulate you for your mastery, will and purposefulness that helped you win the highest honour for every athlete - a gold medal at World Championships. In the hearts of Bulgarian you have been champions since long ago."

23.03.06. - Albena Denkova and Maxim Staviski of Bulgaria have taken the lead after the compulsory dance and still lead after the OD at the World Championship in Calgary, Canada.
In the swirl of Revenburg dance, the star couple amazed with perfect harmony and artistic performance deservedly awarded with the highest score of 38.4 points.

Even though Denkova and Staviski have been unsatisfied with their Olympics result, Bulgaria's top ice-skating duo say that the fans' admiration and support more than made up for it.

20.03.06. - So.. this week will be a week of World Championships in Calgary!!! Yes, that will be the last competition of the skaters this season.
We wish Albena and Maxim the best of luck and.. we are crossing our fingers, as usual! ;) All the events will take place at the Pengrowth Saddledome arena, Calgary.

24.02.06. - Please, no comments for the Olympic Games. 5th place.. 2 points deduction.. oh my..

11.01.06. - Today is the FIRST BIRTHDAY of our site! One year on-line!! It's a big date already!!! I'd like to thank everyone for being with us, for your support and for your love to ALbena and Maxim!!!

08.01.06. - Italian Nationals took place in Sesto San Giovanni (5-8 January 2006) and Albena and Maxim skated there with Barbara Fusar-Poli/Maurizio Margaglio, Federica Faiella/Massimo Skali and Alesia Aureli/Andrea Vaturi. Unfortunately, we don't know scores of our couple, but we know that Albena and Maxim were glad with their skating at San Giovanni

Albena said: “We’re here for the nationals, because we couldn’t have our competitions before the Olympics, so our coach decided to ask the Italian federation and they were as kind as to accept up for these nationals, which are a very good competition together with Barbara and Maurizio, and Massimo and Federica. It’s a little bit cold but it is ok. Our waltz was not very good actually, we felt a bit nervous, but overall I think we did well. We enjoyed this opportunity, we feel we still need a bit more of practice because we did the polka and tango for the grand prix and we didn’t have much time for the waltz.”

05.01.06. - Albena and Maxim are not going to European Championships to Lyon. It's the official declaration of Bulgarian Figure Skating Federation. They decided not to send their top-skaters there. So, we will see Albena & Max only in Torino!

20.12.05. - Albena and Maxim visit their home!! It's their first visit to Bulgaria in six months and their last one before their future participation in the European championship, the Winter Olympic Games and the World Championship in the beginning of 2006.

This evening Albena and Maxim will bring joy for the admirers of their mastership at a special ice skating show that will take place in Sofia with fantastic, magic ice show "vivatel - Christmas Fairytale" at the Winter Palace in Sofia.

The skating pair returned to Bulgaria at the special invitation of Bulgaria's third GSM operator vivatel despite their busy program.

It is a great honour for vivatel to be sponsor of Bulgaria's best skating duo. We wish them luck in the upcoming tournament, Garry Radcliffe, vivatel's Product Services Director said. He also thanked Albena and Maxim for finding time to come to Bulgaria and throw a show for their Bulgarian fans.

19-25.09.05. - Albena and Maxim came to Moscow to work with their new choreographer from the Bolshoy Theatre. It was a wonderful choise of the choreographer, on the opinion of many people. Albena & Maxim and their coaches liked very much finds in the field of their new original and free dances!!

21.06.05. - Little vacations finished and Albena and Maxim with their new coaches Natalia Linichuk and Gennady Karponosov have started their preparing for new, Olimpic season.
According to ISU these are rhythms for 2005-2006 season:
CD: Yankee Polka, Ravensburger Waltz, Tango Romantica
OD: Latin Combination: Meringue, Cha Cha Cha, Samba, Mambo, Rhumba.
Albena and Maxim have alreayd chosen the musoc for their OD routine, it's some combo with rumba.. but style of their FD is a huge secret for now!

31.05.05. - Albena and Maxim are going to spend a couple of days in Moscow with Maxim's parents :)) They have some holidays now!!! Then they will return to Bulgaria to go to the sea. But 12th June Albena and Maxim must return to Delaware.

23.05.05. - Albena and Maxim has announced that now they are working with Natalia Linichuk and Gennady Karponosov. It's for sure already that just Linichuk and Karponosov will try to lead Albena and Maxim to the gold medal of Torino!
And we just wish GOOD LUCK for our dear couple!!!

06.05.05. - One week ago Albena and Maxim moved to the United States. They'll train there till the end of May. Then guys will have little vacations and will return home, to their sunny and warm Bulgaria.
We sincerely hope, that everything will be as Albenochka and Maxim wanted to and that all their plans and dreams will become true!!!
